So I had an idea that I wanted to bounce off of the SP community. Hear me out and tell me if you like it or not ;).
Currently, SP includeds predefined blocks like the calendar block, the recent posts block etc. The new pages feature of SP 2.3 has me thinking what if it also had predefined custom pages included with some future version of SP?
Admittedly, I can only really currently think of one that would be useful: The team page (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=team) or maybe something like ccbtimewiz's team page (http://www.dzinerstudio.com/index.php?topic=3759.0).
Do you think this is a horrible idea? What other pages could you envision including that would be useful?

It's a decent idea, to be honest.
However, I really think that is completely up to the user to decide. The reason there is a default portal configuration is so that users know the portal is functioning. What you're wanting to do would restrict customization.

I never said any of these "predefined pages" would be enabled by default. I am saying when you go to add a page you would have the option to add a preformatted page like you currently can add a blank html, php, or BBC page.

Could your team page be modified to work in SP custom php page?

The team page mod I made is the one that is used here, as a matter of fact...
Though I can't be too certain, it could, for all reason, just be a port of the older one for SMF 2.0 as it lacks my copyright.
It can be ported as a default page for SP, but that would defeat the purpose of having it as a default p-page in DP.

Maybe I'm thick but what is a "default p-page in DP"? I guess I am fuzzy on those acronyms. :P

Nevermind, I was thinking out-loud, so to speak.
Regardless, I think it is a good idea. Though isn't that what mods are for?

Our team page here is completely re-coded by me again and does not contain any of the codes you added to the one I coded for SMF 1.1 versions. Not sure if your code contains my code though.

Probably not. I recoded mine a while ago; it used to just use SSI but now it queries with an inside admin panel.
