Hi there !

I have seen this pages from the smf discussion threads some days ago ... I am also concerned about this and how much time has gone from one RC to another. Some improvements I can see at the bug tracker, twi steps forward, one back. But from my point of view I can only hope.

Most of the discussion for this can be found over at smf-friends.org. Basically not much is happening atm, the SMF team is going its own way, all the people who didn't like that way (or were forced unwillingly from the team by the new team agreement) have left. Many of the SMF friends are now working towards a new project at Yourasoft (http://www.yourasoft.org/).

SMF will continue, but in my opinion it will never properly recover. I can't see it going uphill (at least in terms of support, customization, development, etc.) as the structure of the organization and team, as well as the license won't allow it to do so. That may seem to be an odd point of view coming from a developer for a portal which requires SMF, the situation is still developing though.
