Title: Customizing how blocks look
Post by: FantasyEarth on March 10, 2010, 09:49:35 AM
Hello everyone,

I'm kinda new here and read the tutorials but it seems like what I would like to do is not covered.

I am looking into modifying the individual blocks and adding more fancy images into it so that it wouldn't look too generic and would be unique for my site. What I would like done is to add an image on top of every block instead of the generic table and text title. This is the part I'd like stripped:

I'd like to know which part of the blocks' code I would need to strip so that I could replace it with my own image on top of every block and how I would go about doing that.

Thank you for your time and patience!

If you want to change the base 'outline' code for every single block, then have a look at the 'template_block_curve' function from your 'Themes/default/Portal.template.php' file (for SMF 2).

So it is not possible to do it individually in case I have different images for each block?

If you can use the Style options for each block (either by using custom styles or by creating your own css classes), then you should be able to use different images for each block.
