I have my own SMF forum version 2.0 RC3 and the newest Simple Portal..

Can someone help me with this following problem...?

I uploaded the Simple Portal to the package manager but when I try to install the mod it says:

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

I did set my Packages directory to 777 and every single file in it..

Does someone know what I need to do now because I'm  a noob in this ?

Try creating a 'temp' directory within your 'packages' directory, then chmoding it to 0777 as well. Then attempt to install SimplePortal again.
