(Currently) it says that 7,001 people use the Forum or Board Default theme.
How can it be, if according to Board Stats, there are only 6,482 members?

Have you deleted any members, have unapproved members, or members waiting to be deleted?

Those members do not affect board statistics however they will affect the "number of people using said theme".

This is more than likely an SMF issue (if it can be called an issue at all).
