i Just upgrade to 2.0R3 from 1.1.11
and install
SP Version: 2.3.2
I wanted my Boardnews Block posts be limited for display just the first 100 characters, i put in the 'Maximum Characters:' field 100 for a BoardNews block but the full post is displayed anyway.
i was reading this.. i think is not the same issue because i do not need the full post. only 100 first characters.
i hope someone can help me to fix this. need to disable sp because the posts is to long for showing on portal... only when this issue was fixed i can put portal again.

Did you add [cutoff] tag to the end of post?

Nop, i just update my forum from 1.1.11 to RC3, while upgrading all mods was uninstalled, then i install the SP 2.3.2 and in the portal all post displaying full, then i go to administration, In Maximun Character put 95 in order to get a short post.. but nothing happen, because the full post displaying.. no matter how many character put in the maximun character field .
in the forum there are 5000 posts i can t put a cutoff tag to each one.

Hi, after 3 day looking for a solution to this issue.. finally fix it:D
I translate my forum to other server and Upgrade from 1.1.11 to RC3, then i restore the 1.1.11 database on a fresh installation of 1.1.11, then make the upgrade to 2.0RC3. then i select default theme. and without touch anything else.. and with the 1.1.11 Database upgraded to 2.RC3. Make a new Database Backup then i make a New and Fresh RC3 Install.. delete database, and restore the backup. and all issues Fixed.

PD. I order to get work forum again i try others Portals, and i find Simpleportal is the best one. Congratulation for the good job.
