Did you try the SimplePortal shoutbox?
First, add a shoutbox, then add a shoutbox block for that shoutbox.

Yes but i keep getting spammed and i hate having to remove via phpmyadmin. Hackspark gives the /clear option.

You have a 2.0-compatible version of the Hack's Park shoutbox?
Oh -- it's in SMFPacks now.

* Install mod
* look at the Hack's Park changes for  index.template.php. and You don't want them there.  You want them in a block. http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=1295;attach=150388;smf_version=2.0_RC3 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=1295;attach=150388;smf_version=2.0_RC3)

* Anything in  index.template.php to do with Hack's Park shoutbox, put them in a custom php block instead.

I'm assuming this kind of approach OUGHT to work, but I have not tried it. If you run into problems, you can ask at their support thread -- "if I want to put the shoutbox in a portal block, which code do I have to change?"

Nick,
Regarding your shoutbox with /clear command for a portal:

Look here: http://askusaquestion.net/index.php?topic=739.0

Download v1.221 and the block code is shown during install or you can find it in that board.

I prefer the Smfpacks one.

I prefer the Smfpacks one.

I tried experimenting with that shoutbox recently just to check it out...
My error log was so long I lost count and any other comments I have towards that mod are against this sites language policy.

Good luck.

I tried to work with it and it annoyed me. Simpleportal is the tidyest shoutbox so far but theres no;

/clear
/ban

Commands so it makes the control so much easier. I just hope that http://simpleportal.net/index.php?issue=397.0 gets added and the next version of SP is released soon :(.

You can learn pHp.
It is an excellent skill to have, if you have the ambition to really customize your website.

Search for "php tutorial" or "php tutorial for beginners".  You will find a lot of helpful links to help you get started.
