Feature additions to SimplePortal are ultimately decided by the SimplePortal development team, based on requests from the community. If you want to make a feature request, then please use the Feature Requests board. The coding of the SimplePortal package itself is done by the development team, who have experience coding with PHP, SMF and SimplePortal.
My suggestion would be that you package your Archive as a SMF modification for SimplePortal. As of yet I have not seen much community support for such a feature, although if an Archive mod was to become popular the development team might consider adding such a feature to the core package. Such a contribution to the SimplePortal community would be most welcome.
