Hey guys, I very rarely register to new forums for no reason, But i just wanted to say a big thanks.
After moving to a new site, we decided to go with a new board, phpbb was awkward to code for due to automod issues, wordpress, joomla, drupal simply couldnt offer the forum/portal compatibility i wanted, and while exapnadable the drupal base forums where an experience I want to forget.
Eventually I decided to give SMF a go, and rather than working with a separate front end. I tried out a few portals.
After reading a few forums I heard simple portal was far superior to tinyportal, and after trying adk portal, I settled with you guys.
(as most of those reading this will already know) Simple Portal was quick to install, easy to setup and general administration was a walk in the park.
It took me longer to find and decide on using SMF with Simple portal than it did getting it from scratch to what you see today.
I've spent some time with the blocks, layout and after sending the site live earlier this evening it's already received a fantastic response from the early members moving across.
