Title: Does Simple Portal only show up to the admin?

correct me if im wrong  the  simple  portal only  shows up to the admin  correct   ?>

the reason i ask is  i  can see  when im signed on  as  admin on my  site   the simple portal  shows up    along with other  things  now i have  a  question will this  simple portal work  on a  theme  that was  designed using the  default  theme  settings  ?

any help will be  appreciated

Usually, the portal page and portal blocks are for everybody to see, subject to the permissions you set on the blocks.
But if you take SimplePortal into maintenance mode, only the admin will see the Simpleportal features.
 
Otherwirse, only the admin stuff is admin-only.
 
SimplePortal can work with many custom themes. I'm not sure what a "theme that was designed using the default theme settings" is, but if it is curve-based, it will probably work fine.
 
In fact, at install time, SimplePortal offers to make necessary changes to your themes.
 
If you did not do that, you can see the manual install instructions for the template files, and do them yourself in your custom theme.
