The block headers are not set up to use language strings.
It would take a significant amount of work to get them set up to work that way, along with some kind of new interface feature that would let you choose whether to use "straight text" or language strings. So I think would make a great suggestion for some future version of SimplePortal. I wouldn't hazard a guess where it would fall in relation to all the other really good suggestions for enhancement of SimplePortal.
I agree that, for a truely international forum/website, it would be great to have internationalizable block names on the portal, to go along with internationalized content in the blocks.

I could move this to the Feature Requests board if you want.

Any news on this request?

I am currently building a dual-language site based on SMF and SP and I am really missing multi-language block names.

Many years later not even a reply.

Sorry if we are all unpaid volunteers for a free project, sorry if we cannot really dedicate our free time to ONE single person who asked something and has been forgotten for years.
Thanks for your understanding.

Feeling sulky?

1. Originally it was not my request (not one single person)
2. Difference between original request and my question: almost 2 years
3. Difference between my question and now: more than 4 years
4. Result: A grumpy reply how bad life is with no connection to the original question

Suggestion: Just close this feature request and we would all know that it is not important for the SP developer team

Was undecided whether to warn you directly but I'll just politely tell you instead - bashing us for not doing what you said simply because you want it is not going to get you anywhere but out of the door. Actually I'm pretty sure asking politely would have attracted someone such as emanuele or one of the other good coders, but such attitude probably won't.

Besides I cannot close the topic since it's not yours, so you cannot ask for it to be closed on the OP's behalf.

I did NOT bash anyone!
Especially not for implementing anything.
Where in my last two postings do you read this? Maybe the thumbs down smiley?

I know what it means to work on such a project. So all I want is an answer about this topic.
Years ago there was attention by Angelina and Sinan but nothing else.
And as I just saw my old quick hack for this problem (which is so ugly that I can't provide it to the community) I looked if something changed.

Like you feel my postings bashing I feel your postings equally wrong worded.
So I hope we are balanced now.
