Title: Text not correct in IE
Post by: WillKemp on May 13, 2011, 06:43:21 AM
Hi,

When viewing simple portal BBC block in IT the text looses all spacing and general justification.  IT works fine using chrome.

We are using a custom template.  Any idea why this is happening?

V2.0 RC5.

Many thanks,

Formatting for IE can be very tricky. Especially for IE 6. Also for IE7. IE9 is a bit better.  It just does not act like other browsers.
SimplePortal's blocks have been tested with SMF's default themes, and adjustments to the HTML and CSS have been made to make sure things look OK in almost every case.
But if you are using a custom theme, it could be tricky. I would recommend using IE's developers tools to check the layout, and the HTML and CSS that creates it.
Compare this to what you see in firebug for firefox, if you can.
Eventually, you may narrow this down to some adjustment you'd like to make in your theme's index.css or else in the copy of portal.css in your theme's CSS directory, to accomodate your theme, which is different from the default theme (CORE for SMF 1.1.x, CURVE for SMF 2)
