Since it looks like the SMF 2.0 final/gold has be delayed, if I install Simple Portal on 2.0RC5 would I lose it when I upgrade to 2.0 final/gold? Should I just wait till it is released? Also, what is the closest Simple Portal Theme that is closest to the SMF Curve theme?

I get the impression that SMF 2.0 final will be out in a matter of days. I have seen reports that they are double-checking the final build right now.
If you already have SimplePortal installed, you can uninstall before the upgrade, then re-install afterwards. Uninstalling SimplePortal does not remove any of your blocks, pages, or articles -- unless you specifically request that the uninstall remove all data associated with SimplePortal.
So it should be a simple process, either way.
SimplePortal does not come with any themes. SimplePortal works best with the SMF Curve theme.
