Whenever I enter the standalone page, it shows me as a guest. Then when I go back to the forum, I'm a member again.  Weird, huh? What can I do about that?

Admin area > Server Settings > Cookies and Sessions >  Use subdomain independent cookies

Try ticking this if it isn't already. You may need to logout and in again once you have done so
