Can't fix redirect loop

I've been helping a friend set up SMF and SP but have run into a problem that I can't find a solution for. Using SMF 2.0 RC3 and SP 2.3.1. After my friend set up SMF and SP for whatever reason when you went to http://berryandroid.com it wouldn't show the portal. But if you went to /index.php it worked just fine and you could see the front page. So my friend set up a redirect in cPanel to redirect http://berryandroid.com to index.php.

This seemed to work, but then we noticed that going to http://berryandroid.com/index.php didn't work. It was just a redirecting loop. I verified this using live http headers, and it does indeed show a 301 permanent redirect.  So we backed up the redirect set up in cPanel. Yet it still has a redirect loop. I checked the .htaccess file and commented out all of the lines just to make sure nothing in the htaccess file was causing the problem. But this didn't solve the redirect loop either.

So now I'm not sure where to look or what to do to troubleshoot this problem. Does anyone have any ideas?

Glad that you could get it solved. ;)
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...
