Let me first say I hope I have this in the right section.  I tried asking at the smf site about this, and didnt get any response so seeing its realitive to the simple portal, Im hoping someone here can help steer me in the right direction.

A quick overview of my settings and then what Im trying to accomplish.  www.mysite.net is a simple html page that links to a joomla portal which resides at www.mysite.net/home  from there is a link to my smf 1.1.12 forums at www.mystite.net/home/fourms.index.php?action=forum. I set the link to my forums to head directly to them, rather then the simple portal, which is at www.mysite.net/home/forum/index.php.

I'm using simple portal's portal page as an info center for my registered members ( recent posts, shoutbox, etc ) and I didn't want guests to see it. So I coded a button to link directly to the portal page into my forums.  Here in starts my issue.

With my smf theme, when you click one of the buttons, say, memberlist.. the site goes to www.url./index.php?=mlist, and the members button turns red being "active".  I set the forums button to $current_action == 'home' ? ' id="active"'

so it will catch any other place on the website such as  url/index.php?action=board or .php?action=topic.  My issue is that when you go to the simple portal ( info center ) it highlights and sets the forum button active. So I'm wondering if there is a way to have the portal page coded to be a /index.php?=info, as I know then I could link it with my info button and it would cause it to turn red.  Im not sure if that makes sense or not, but I was able to create a button to my smf gallery because by typing out action=gallery, it loads the php page for it and all I had to do was add the word "gallery" into the array.

Or as a secondary thought, is there a way in the link button to tell it a specific address to assoctiate it with, so where my other buttons say 'action=' I could insert the exact web address of the portal page?

Here is the code from my index.template with my button links.  Sorry for sounding so novice, I'm very new with php..I know this is purely cosmetic, I just would like to have it work if possiable.  Thank you for your time.
