Fatal error after installing
« on: December 15, 2011, 09:30:48 AM »
Hello there,

I recently thought of installing a portal software in my forum. after searching and reading, I decided to go with SP. yesterday I installed it and after a successful installation I got this error

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ssi_shutdown() (previously declared in /SSI.php:201) in /SSI.php on line 203

I still see the header and menu bet the rest was replaced with the error.

I manually checked every file that should be modified during the installation based on the manual installation steps from parsing the package on sm.org . all files and modifications are ok.

then I decided to manually uninstall the mod. I started with index.php and after reversing the third modification which is

find

Code: [Select]
'findmember' => array('Subs-Auth.php', 'JSMembers'),
replace with

Code: [Select]
'findmember' => array('Subs-Auth.php', 'JSMembers'),
'forum' => array('BoardIndex.php', 'BoardIndex'),
'portal' => array('PortalMain.php', 'sportal_main'),

I was able to load the whole page again, and then accessed the packages and finished the installation from there.

note: when I switched before from smf 2 rc4 to 2.0.1 I was also thinking of checking some portal software, therefore I remember installing couple and uninstalling them, but I am not sure if SP was one of them.

current:

SMF 2.0.1

SP 2.3.4

theme clear sky by skinmod

http://www.skinmod.eu/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=56

I hope you have enough info to see what was wrong. Please find the attached ssi.php

ok now since I did not get any answer  :( in the past two day and today is a weekend, I thought of reinstalling sp just on the default theme. after doing that I got the known 500 server error.

I accessed the forum buy ?debug and there was no error in the error log.

I uninstalled sp and the server error was gone! forum back to normal.

In cp error log I found a bunch of errors similar to

Premature end of script headers: /public_html/index.php

Please let me know what to do

thanks

here I am again and I thought of writing the solution it may be useful for someone in the future.

it turned out that what causes the Fetal error was a marquee I have in index.template.php of the customized theme. I removed it and now I am able to access the forum with portal. I have one problem will explain in separate topic if I wont find the solution here.

thanks
