For this you need installed Tagging System For Topics and Cumulus Congestus (both are at SMF Mod Site).
If you set everything up, in PHP block add:
Code: [Select]
cumulus_show();
and this will show tag cloud.

But of course, topic at your forum need to have some tags, this mod won't generate it for you.

Did you install both mods?
Tagging System For Topics and Cumulus Congestus

It looks like you need to take two steps
1) create a custom php block.  Follow phantomm's instructions and put cumulus_show(); in this block.  Show this block in whatever block location you want it to show.
2) Find out how the mod puts that stuff in the forum, so you can remove it from where you do not want it to be.
Either it has a setting to turn on/off showing the tag clouds, or else it simply adds something to one of the theme templates.
If it turns out to be in a theme template, and you want some help getting it out of there, I'm sure you can find some help here.

Good luck!

Nothing happens! Add block "cumulus_show ();" and here it gets.

That error message generally means something was not closed -- bracket, parenthesis, or quote.

cumulus_show{)  for example.

If that is not the case, then there is a strange syntax error in the cumulus_show function itself.
I am not at all familiar with that code, and cannot be very much help.

This rotating tag cloud is a feature of the other mod.
That author's mod probably can tell you how to stop tag rotation.

I have never used this mod.
I think might get more help in support for cumulus congestus mod.

But I imagine the "rotation speed" might help you
-- "0 = disabled" might disable the rotation

All settings review and is not what I want. It's not adjustable 0 rotation. In general I think there is such a mod for smf and SimplePortal as shown in the first post?
I came to this, but it makes me happy.  :'(

I am sorry to hear that this did not help. As far as I know, nobody has made a special tag cloud mod for SimplePortal.

I think the best way to understand the behavior of cumulus congestus is to talk to that mod's author.  Please find the mod's page at simplemachines.org to find the best way to talk to the mod's author and user community.
