Topic: database error while installing simpleportal

Ok I intalled today simpleportal 2.3.5
I removed it because I saw an other portal mod so I installed that one.
Because I didnt liked it I removed and tried to install simpleportal 2.3.5 again but now its giving me this error:
Duplicate key name 'state'
File: /usr/export/www/hosting/haxhome/public_html/smf/Sources/Subs-Db-mysql.php
Line: 419
So I cant install simpleportal anymore.
Im using smf 2.0 and before I deleted simpleportal it was working good!

Any solutions for this?

Did you uninstall and delete the old files?

there is a check box at the Uninstall Mod page

[ ] Remove all data associated with this modification

...you may want to re-install the other portal, then uninstall and drop the tables

I deleted it this way: I go to packages>browse packages> delete.
I dont know if that is the right way?
and I dont see that check box?

just to be clear, you removed SimplePortal by clicking at Delete button or Uninstall?

Then I guess you did not uninstalled mod correctly.
Try to uninstall it manually. Make changes backwards:

Remember to backup all edited files.

It would be easier just to replace the files with the ones before mod install - kept in the zips  in the  backup folder of packages - wouldnt it?

Doing it manually would be hard for some people. And for me, I prefer just putting in clean SMF files using the large upgrade package and reinstalling mods - very quick, even with 20-30 mods.
