SimplePortal Shoutbox Color Selector
« on: February 01, 2013, 01:36:13 AM »
Hi, I have tried searching through code and the web for something to start with.   I am trying to make a graphical or drop down menu style color selector.

I dont care how it works just something.  Either within the Styling (AA graphic) add 5-10 more graphics for text color that once clicked will automatically insert the code
Code: [Select]
ex. [color=red] curser flashing here for input [/color]
Or make a new javascript drop down button to the right of the Styling graphic.

One of these two options is preferred, but if not, to just create a drop down menu for text color next to the styling graphic.

I really am at loss to where to start as all i can find is something that loads the bbc code into an array and thats the closest I can find.  All the other files seem to only deal with the smileys.  Can anyone point me in the correct direction or help me out with some code to start.  And if you do the option with the graphics, please let me know where I would need to place the additional color text images.

Here is an example of something that would be acceptable.  I would prefer the drop down but I still would love this.

Thank you everyone in this community!  From the NotD gaming forum.

I need this as well, but it doesnt seem like it should be terribly hard to code. Once I get everything all set up, I'll see what I can do.
Here to help who I can.

I almost figured it out... just can't get value from selected option Now I have to find out how to check if color BBCode is allowed in Shoutbox :|
