Picture not autoresized
« on: April 28, 2013, 07:05:00 PM »
Hello!

I'm having an issue with a few pictures not being autoresized. A member of my forums posted a few pictures from Planetside 2 and some of the pics are not autoresized.

They are simply attached using the img bbcode tags and there's nothing special about them that I've found (except for a non-normal width vs height ratio in the picture itself).

I tried posting this particular picture in a separate thread to see if there was something weird going on, and it still didn't resize. I posted a different picture in the same thread, and that did resize just normally.

Anyone else had any issues with anything similiar?

my php settings are:
memory_limit: 128
max_execution_time: 30
upload_max_filesize: 5

and I've tried maxing them to see if it makes any difference:
memory_limit: 128
max_execution_time: 60
upload_max_filesize: 50

If this is not part of a simple portal block, or on the simple portal front page (articles and board news) - just photos in forum posts and replies, you are asking in the wrong place.
You should ask on SMF forum:
http://www.simplemachines.org/

Simple portal image resize is just for the portal front page when it displays articles and board news.
Quote
"Enables resizing images in articles and board news to 300x300px, to prevent possible overflows."

As far as I know images are not re-sized by the forum. You will need a mod to do that (if there is one). Again, you need to go to SMF, it is not a simple portal support problem (unless Im wrong - I doubt it).

Can you provide us with both of those examples? You can send the links to me through personal messaging system.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

You're right igirisjin. Its SMF's resize function that fails, not simpleportal's.

Apologies for posting on the wrong forum :)
