CSS Settings from 2.3.3 to 2.3.5
« on: August 17, 2013, 06:17:37 AM »
Hi there!
Our forums have been on Simple Portal 2.3.3 a while and we would like to change to 2.3.5 but there is a problem since we have been changing a lot in the CSS code, this leads to that if we upgrade our website will look a bit different.
Is there anyway to just upgrade with the new functions? And skip the CSS update?

Also, I've been looking at the Copyright (no I'm not gonna remove / change it) I would like to: A: Make it bigger since it doesnt match with the SMF and template copyright text, B: Move it to the SMF and template copyright.
I know were every copyright text is and I could just remove the Simpleportal and add it in the original SMF (index.english) but this is not allowed if I've understand everything correct?

I'm using 2.0.5 SMF version.

Thanks in advance!

Edit:
Just saw that this thread should be in Themes and Graphics sorry! Could any mod change it? Or should I make a new one?

You mean you have changed a lot in the portal.css file? Can you provide a screenshot of what the copyright looks like?

The topic should be fine here. No worries there. :)
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Yes, we have changed that file as well as others. If you take a look at the links you can see the difference. :/

As you can see from your test site, upgrading to 2.3.5 will fix the issue about copyright. The issue appeared in 2.3.3 when SMF updated their copyright line with 2.0 because SimplePortal relied on that line to figure out where exactly to put the copyright. It was fixed in 2.3.4.

The best I can suggest about your custom changes would be comparing your files with a fresh 2.3.3 package, noting down the changes and applying them to 2.3.5 version.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...
