Hi there !

just something I have noticed: Can it be done that <enter> sends the text, so that I need not to get the mouse for sending?
Can the admin easily delete or edit the entrys?
The history is wonderful btw!
And Ajax would be perfect, but this is also a wish for other boxes from me ...

Answers:
1) Not entirely sure what you mean.
2) Admin can delete entries from the history, although there is no ability to edit shouts at the moment. I don't see why it would be necessary though.

I know that everyone wants to know when the shoutbox block will be available, you'll have to wait and see.

Just to make it clear: SimplePortal 2.2.1 will only be a bug fix release and there will not be *any* new features within, including shoutbox.

The shoutbox we use here is coded only for this web site. A shoutbox may be included in 2.3 version, and it would be a more advanced one if done.

Please do not use shoutbox for support requests; use the support boards instead.

c23_Mike, it already uses AJAX. It just doesn't have an auto refresh function, which I find useless.

Hi there !

My posts are just hints what I use at mine and why.

Edit because sometimes people write so many errors in grammar that I correct some of them. We had complaints in our forum about members, and they cannot better, they are happy when I correct it.
This is not really a top feature.

Delete entrys are necessary if someone writes bullsh...

Ajax automatic reload would be a nice option, as long it is already easy or partly implemented. At our site lot of member have only the site opened and look sometimes if there is something new, without reload even more comfort.

At 1) Now you have to write the text, then grab the mouse and click onto "Shout!" button. It would be a nice feature if instead klicking on the button a hit onto <enter> key would do that (for keyboard junkeys).

I believe SP.net is the only place this shoutbox is being tested at the moment. As it gets further along in development, I'm sure it can be tested elsewhere.

Shame as I would of loved to help test it.

The portal we have has given our forum a fantastic look and the staff are very helpful when it comes to the various blocks and which is more suitable ( our most recent being the digital clock).

i had nneos shoutbox working fine in a block but it seems to have been exploited with spam coming from somewhere i didn't find yet so i had to disable it.

I also have Neoneos Shoutbox on my site. You should only registered members allow to write in the box. And with SMF 2.0RC1 I had no bot until now. But for that I had to integrate a question in the registration process (add 2 and four, write answer in words, something like that).

Other question: What has be done with the shoutbox on this site?

On a more serious note, the more people who use it, the more testing we can get with it. We'll try to continue to make improvements to the shoutbox, and Sinan has hinted that it might appear in SimplePortal version 2.3. We'll see.

Wow it was here all time but I have not seen it or not displayed it? Bcs there are shouts yesterday and today...
