Using "page"; picture breaking out. Possible to avoid?
« on: October 27, 2013, 07:02:55 AM »
Hi.
I'm using Using:
*SMF 2.0.6
*SimplePortal 2.3.5

My problem is related to pages in SP. I would like to use a picture on some 15 pages, each picture will have a width of aprx 1260px.
No problem linking the picture in, but is it possible to prevent it from breaking out of the page if looked at from a device like a phone or a small tablet pc etc? Either by some resize function, scroll bar or other options?

Any suggestion would be great  :)

Maybe it's me being stupid, because I finally understood that a scroll bar will be visible when using a block for the picture. And that maybe is the way it actually is supposed to be done?

But still it would be very good to know if it is possible to insert the picture directly in the page and use some kind of scroll bar or re-size function.

Please ask if I haven't managed to explained in a way it is possible to understand, admit I have some trouble writing in English.

It is possible to specify an image width in the SMF img tag.  Please see
http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Img
for more.

If you want the image to be available in different sizes for different devices, you might look into custom mobile themes for SMF.

If you want to put the image in a small size, and give the user the option to "click for larger size", then you want to have a mod for SMF, based on lightbox or highslide or other image-resizing tools.

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=lightbox
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=highslide
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=search;basic_search=resize

Does any of this help?
