  • {OCS}MasterSeal: I know this SB isnt' for support, but I just have a general question. Who would I contact to find out where SP stores its block info? Is it DB driven or files? I searched the site but came up with nothing. probably my fault any insight is appreciated.

Interesting idea. Which specific blocks are you refering to? You can already get RSS for some of them.

I do like the idea of having an RSS feed for the articles though... But we will need to discuss this further. ;)

Oh i didnt know some already had them lol...i havnt really started using SP yet havnt had time to set it up haha =P although for articles you can take RSS news feeds from places like CNN or something (I don't know whether CNN has RSS or not lol) and let me know how that goes =P

An RSS block would be good. The SimplePie class would be the best one to use as I believe it has a compatible license as well as handling the cache automatically.

When I said that you can already get RSS, I meant that you can already get the same RSS feeds for similar functions to the SMF blocks - At the moment Simple Portal doesn't have any RSS inbuilt, although this is a feature that we can look into. ;)
