Problem Uninstalling 2.3.3
« on: January 08, 2014, 05:07:13 AM »
Hi! I am trying to uninstall old SP 2.3.3 from my forum (SMF 2.0.6), but I encountered some errors in the test.

First error is in /index.php - replace
Quote
require_once($sourcedir . '/Security.php');
require_once($sourcedir . '/Subs-Portal.php');

require_once($sourcedir . '/Security.php');

And two errors in /Sources/QueryString.php - replace
Quote
// It's just a blue dream...
 if (function_exists('sp_query_string'))
 $buffer = sp_query_string($buffer);

 // If $scripturl is set to nothing, or the SID is not defined (SSI?) just quit.

 // If $scripturl is set to nothing, or the SID is not defined (SSI?) just quit.

Quote
\?(?:' . SID . ';)((?:board|topic|page

\?(?:' . SID . ';)((?:board|topic

So please could somebody help me with that? I am not sure what line I should replace with what line? Thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome to SimplePortal!

You can attach those two files here. Then I could remove the SimplePortal related code from the package for you. After that, you can continue with the uninstallation and replace those two files with the ones I'll give you.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

Thank you for your help  ;D

Here are the files in the attachment. I will wait for modified version.

And just another question. Is it better to choose the option "Remove all data associated with this modification" while uninstalling? If I choose this option, propably I will lost my block configuration etc. Is my current setting compatible with the new version, so should I untick this option while uninstalling old version?

All your Simple Portal data is ok with new versions I'm sure. So don't remove it if you want to save time.
Everyone is a volunteer here so please try and make a small donation to keep the Simple Portal website running

Thank you for your help  ;D

Here are the files in the attachment. I will wait for modified version.

Attached them with SimplePortal code removed. (both of the conflicts were due to the ad mod you have - I hate it when people don't write clean code modification packages) What you need to do is:
1) make sure you have the back-ups of your source files (just in case something goes wrong - it shouldn't though)
2) replace index.php and QueryString.php files with the attached ones
3) uninstall the mod ignoring the warnings on only those two files that you've replaced

And just another question. Is it better to choose the option "Remove all data associated with this modification" while uninstalling? If I choose this option, propably I will lost my block configuration etc. Is my current setting compatible with the new version, so should I untick this option while uninstalling old version?

It is better that you don't check that option. The most recent install package will adapt your database to suit the changes, so no worries there. Of course, unless you want to remove all the portal related data and start anew.
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...
