Topic: 'Recent Image Attachments' block Vs 'Custom BoardIndex View' mod conflict

Hello,


First of all, thanks for creating such an awesome, simple-to-use portal!

I mainly installed it for the great 'Recent Image Attachments' block to display latest images posted on the forum.


I have ran into an issue though - this SP block and 'View Only Boards' (Custom BoardIndex View) SMF mod don't seem to play nice together.

This mod gives 'partial' access to boards a membergroup does not have regular full access to. It displays to 'em only the board index / topic listing, but they can't actually enter the topics.


Now here comes the SP 'Recent Image Attachments' block.. Due to the mod linked above, the image block tries to pull and display even the images from the boards that are only partially visible to the 'regular member' usergroup (the ones without permission to actually see the topic contents of such board).

Could I please get some assistance on how to make those broken images go away, ie. don't display 'em at all since that usergroup doesn't have permissions to see 'em?


Hopefully I'm not posting something that has already been solved, I tried to search this issue but could not find it. Thank you so much for looking into it!

Oh, im with you, so teh view only boards prevents users from seeing certain boards, but the image block looks at all boards..

Simple answer is, do you need the View only boards mod, can you not just restrict those boards from view by the regular usergroup permissions.

to integrate that mod, with the portal mod would take a fair bit of work for someone.

'View Only Boards' mod allows 'regular' usergroup to get a full boards peek of what they are missing / can work towards accessing.. it has made many members to become active and start contributing.

SP image block is great too on its own.

I'd hate to be forced to remove either due to their inability to work together as they should.

Will pay $10 to have it fixed, anyone please?
