Shoutbox style change
« on: January 30, 2015, 09:26:20 AM »
Hi, i was fiddling with the shoutbox with inspect element, since i didn't really know how or want to fiddle with the actual files.
and I got the chat looking like something i'd like to use,

but not sure how i would implement that,
I think this is right spot to ask for this.

If you made it with the inspect element then you can do the same exact thing in the actual file, it's no different :P
Have you tried SimplePortal Documentation before asking? ;)

The inspect element tells you where as well...

SimplePortal has it's own css files.
So, it's not totally easy to use inspect element to find where to edit, when remember that that only shows ALL the css, and not individual css files. ;)

Themes/default/css
portal.css

Exactly, which makes it even easier to edit a file that is different from the index.css which is enormous...

What????

What I said, does not mean that.
What I said, is, it makes it HARDER to find what to edit.

Yeah, to me it makes it so much easier @_@ I don't get where the hard part is ;D
EDIT: If you mean that you can't see the file path well it shows me the file path both on Firefox and Maxthon...

Maxthon... now there is a name I haven't heard in quite some time.

Separating them into files is only out of convenience, because CSS is read top to bottom when included.

Well in this case they are only 2 so it sounds good to me :) Maxthon is quite cool for some things and kinda sucks for others, depends on individual's needs I guess. Personally I love its features but I also hate it when it freezes for quite many seconds and refuses to answer until... It just kicks back in randomly :| Except that it's cool :)

Dat username... Number one :D it's been a very long while since you posted last time... So.... Somehow welcome back on your own forum :)

I've still been around, just haven't had much time to respond to anything.

I've been using Chrome for a while now and haven't bothered much with other browsers. Guess I grew old and only like the thing that "works" for me.

I might be the first user on the forum but it's far from mine lol.
