In topic/posts blocks
« on: January 16, 2016, 02:50:56 AM »
I would like to see some blocks that can go between posts. You could have one after the first post for example, or after the last post, with stats about the poster or some sort of member card like they do on blogs. Or maybe you want something else there.

Also it would replace the need to install an ad mod, and I would be able to display my own content there as BBC or HTML.

What I want to display right now is a little banner members can click on to take them to the store where they can buy/download stuff. Kind of like an advertisement but not 100% like one.

You could apply this very same principle (http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=14198.msg71036#msg71036), but throw it there instead of before the info center template, it should work in theory :)
Have you tried SimplePortal Documentation before asking? ;)

Actually that might help me a little more too...

I was thinking of copying the poster info etc and having it run on a counter so it sat in there like a post. This way I can embed the block inside the post with no body or title and it will just work magic :).

That sounds interesting, too. I figure you got it then... May I move it to Custom Coding perhaps? But will do after I wake up :P

Nah it would still be good to have a block able to squeeze into topics :D.

Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.

Why not use Sinan's SimpleAds mod? http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2557

That does look nice for sure but I was hoping to limit the template edits cause I'm using Redsy and it's a HUGE PAIN to install ad mods.
