Calendar Events Modification

Is it possible to modify the Calendar Events block in such a way that the events appear along a line rather than in a column?

For example they currently appear as:

Event 1
Event 2
Event 3

Can the code be modified so that they appear as:

Event 1, Event 2, Event 3

I'd like to use a bottom block for the events list but as the data is in a column it doesn't quite look right with everything being over on the left.
