[solved] paket install error on RC1: dropmenu.css
« on: March 17, 2009, 07:59:26 AM »
Hi there !

I have installed a all new SMF1.8, copied my existing database, upgradet to SMF 2.0RC1 and also applied the german language files. All worked fine!  :D

At next step I want to add the SP again. But when I test the install, it says:

16. Modifikation ausführen ./Themes/default/css/dropmenu.css Test fehlgeschlagen
  1. Ersetzen ./Themes/default/css/dropmenu.css Test fehlgeschlagen

Which means that it has an error at this file. At first I controlled the rights on this file, it has rw on any (also now tried with 777). At next I took a look into the file, normally it searches for

ul.admin_menu
{
   display: table-cell;
   background: url(../images/admintab_right.gif) top right no-repeat;
   width: 34em;
}

but in this file there was only

ul.admin_menu
{
   background: url(../images/admintab_right.gif) top right no-repeat;
}

Maybe thats the error? So I put the two missing lines in it.

But no positiv effect at all.
Of course I could do the chance myself. But I want to know why it do not work as it if fresh installed and I can see the correct lines. Also this is why I installed a clean fresh installation: My "old" install of SMF 1.8 has after several installs and deinstalls also problems with some files I do not know why.

Edit: Now I tried just an other thing: Deleted the lines searching for and replaced with the lines shown at the setup help. Seems to be the same but maybe there is somewheere a space more or so. Now it works the setup at this point!

But exactly after this the next error shows up:

Datenbankfehler
Table 'smf2.sp_articles' doesn't exist
Datei: /var/www/c23/cgi-bin/portal/Packages/temp/install2.php
Zeile: 50

I took a look in my database, there are the SP tables in it (just looked again). All ok so?

Whats wrong?
And why is the first error ??

Last EDIT:  ;D Now I searched even more and tried more and looked more exactly. I have copied my old database, thats why the SP tables exist! And they do not have to exist  ;D ... ok, deleted them (not much in it, just for test), installed, seem to be well!

The first error is a known problem with SP 2.1.1 and SMF 2 RC1. If you search here, you'll find other threads talking about this, and the answer is to just ignore that failure.

As for your second issue, you seem to have gotten that resolved, am I correct?
Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.

Hi there !

I really tried to search for my errors and to find myself the solutions. And short time after post always I found it  :nervous-happy:

Shame about me, but I also changed the topic already to "solved"  :whistle: sorry that I bothered you.
