HTML blocks don't render HTML?
« on: April 16, 2009, 11:42:44 PM »
Can anybody think of a reason why when I put html in an html block all I get is the title bar? Existing blocks are working, new ones give me only the title bar. Even when I copy and paste the code from a working existing block the new block still gives me only the title bar.
Thanks

EDIT: I also can't edit existing blocks. I just tried and reduced it to only the title bar. This is brand new. I was playing with gadgets earlier today and they worked. I have changed nothing at all and there are no errors. Previews don't work either.

EDIT: If it's any clue I have a bunch of errors in my Apache log:
Code: [Select]
http://gregnmary.gotdns.com:8080/index.php?action=spadmin;area=blocks;sa=edit
[Thu Apr 16 23:47:40 2009] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/\\\\\\"http:, referer: http://gregnmary.gotdns.com:8080/index.php?action=spadmin;area=blocks;sa=edit
[Thu Apr 16 23:48:35 2009] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/\\"http:, referer:

Another EDIT: Alright folks, see those extra slashes that I just now noticed in the Apache errors above. They are being added when I either preview or add the block.
1> copy from source and paste into block editor.

2> Click either preview, add or edit the block.

3>extra slashes are spontaneously inserted into the code I pasted, seemingly after = signs and before " marks.

4>If just click preview several times and build up these groups of several rogue slashes each and then manually backspace them all out and click edit the block works. If I manually edit them out without building up the groups they come back. It's possible I'm missing one before they become obvious by building several up :o

Somebody impress the livin hell outta me and tell me why this is so

I'm using the above as a workaround for now and I'll keep any further comments on this site.

It appears on closer inspection that it only adds the slashes when using the preview. I'd be curious to learn whether anybody else is seeing this.

PHP block and backslashes added with 2.2

Well, isn't that perfectly splendid?!?!?

I do hereby confess that I would never in a thousand years have guessed somebody else would be having this issue and hence did not even search :-[

Thanks a bunch

BTW, see how much confidence I have in you folks? I assumed it was something on my end somehow. Seriously, I didn't think it was a bug ;D
