RSS Feed to forum topic Mod
« on: April 04, 2009, 03:42:22 PM »
I have seen it for VB and I have seen it for phpbb, but I have yet to see it for SMF.

Yes, there are two floating about. I have yet to find one that works. One of them says there are too many issues to even download it, the other says it works, but I have yet to see it work for me.

I would love to see someone create one that actually works for us.

This is not a mod that would be done by simpleportal :).

There is a working RSS feed poster for SMF 2.0 called RSS feeder. It is written by an SMF team member.

I have used that mod with it posting into a board with 3 different feeds to 3 different categories and it works fine on RC1. I set up a "forum bot" member who gets the posts attributed to them so as not to affect anyone else's post count. The only problem that has occurred is when the rss feed URL gets changed at the originating source. Each week I archive all the posts for a week into an archived news category so it's only the most recent news in each section.

You'd have to address any issues with the mod author's support topic. SimplePortal cannot provide support for third party mods, except to work with users and mod authors on compatibility issues. Since this does not seem to be the issue here, you should refer any future issues to the mod's support topic.
Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.

Thats horrid. I was hoping the Simple Portal team could take on something like that and add it to what they have. :(

Simple Portal seems to have the best support team out there for mods :)

Sorry Im a n00b
