Land Rover Series One Club forum

Last year I took on this classic car Club's web redesign and was introduced to forums (fora?)

Many of the members are, let's say, over 40 so we've had some fun dealing with the complexities of using the inter-web. I thought SMF's WYSIWYG in v 2.0 would help them but it seems to have created more problems than it solved... but that's a tiny issue.

Anyway, this is it so far...

www.lrsoc.com

SMF 2.0RC1, SP2.2 and SMF Gallery Pro, SMF Articles, SMF Links.

Jade was my hero for her simple Shadow People theme (rather than pfaffing with multiple themes for different colour washes).

Deprecated's Bakers Dozen Pages mod and Look But No Read were also great finds. Then along came Simple Portal just a few weeks back and my Club site now looks better than I could have ever imagined.

Thanks to all for such great software SMF / Simple Portal and some fantastic mods and themes. You make this stuff a doddle even to a newbie.

W

Looks really good very clean and effective usage of SP. ;)
And slowly, you come to realize... It's all as it should be...

I found thing that you could improve, when you change the color variant it doesn't show the portal. The edit below for your 'Subs-SPortal2.php' file will fix that.

Replace this code:
Code: [Select]
// Will hopefully get larger in the future.
$portal_actions = array(

With this code:
Code: [Select]
// Will hopefully get larger in the future.
$portal_actions = array(
'variant' => array('black', 'grey', 'sand', 'blue', 'sagegreen', 'bronzegreen'),

Thanks LHVWB - I'd tried loads of things trying to fix that after installing SP but as it was such a minor issue I'd forgotten all about it.

After a while you don't bother changing colour schemes on your own site...

Very kind of you

Not sure if it was there before and I missed it but your center welcome block looks great. ;)
