Possible to add iFrame to Portal Page?
« on: April 18, 2009, 10:50:52 AM »
I have an external page that steams live data, and wish to display it on my main portal page - Normally, I'd use an iFrame page, but that feature is built into the web program for site building that I use....

Point being, I was wondering if #1) is it possible to place an iFrame type page (or remote page) within a centre block somehow? and if so #2) how would I go about coding that?

TIA -

Just add it via a HTML block on front page like
Code: [Select]
<iframe src="http://whateveryoursiteis.com" width="590px" height="100px" align="left" frameborder="0" marginwidth="0px" marginheight="0px" scrolling="auto"</iframe>
Change the name and dimensions to suit.
That worked for me

Hmmm Nope... it launches the ENTIRE SITE... away from my portal... not within..  :'(

But maybe it's b/c my "source" has a popup option?

This is the page/link I wish to embed... I am using just the plain site... but ideally, would like to pull the "launch normal" window in popup... but even with the normal site, it just redirects you to their site ...?

Thanks for trying though!!

Hmm! I have just tested it using http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php and that worked perfectly well.
Maybe the site you want has prevented it being used in an iframe cos I cant get that to work either. :-[

Well, thanks for trying.. I should have known about <iframe> code.... so will try it in RapidWeaver and see if I can't "insert" a RW page into my forum somehow - as it works there fine? >:-D

Thanks for the fast response...
