How to install an StandAlone simpleportal?

(1/1)

darklord:
Hi,

I wanna install simpleforum on my website but i'm cunfused!

I have my forum installed on http://forum.MyDomain.com and i want to have simple portal on http://www.MyDomain.com. I read this topic but my question didn't answer...

In fact i want both URLs work as well, it means when a user going to my forum URL they see just forum and when they go to WWW they see simpleportal. and when a user click on forum links he redirects to htt://forum.MyDomain.com/ instead of http://www.MyDomain.com/index.php?action=forum

hope be undrestandable! and sorry for week english  :nervous-happy:

Nathaniel:
That should be easy:
Firstly, move your 'SPStandalone.php' file from your forum's directory to your main directory, rename it to 'index.php'. and edit the SSI.php include within it so that it points to the SSI.php file in your forum's directory.
Then set your 'Portal Mode' to 'Standalone' and your 'Standalone URL' to 'http://www.MyDomain.com' (or whatever your site's url is). Those settings can be found in the SMF admin panel under SimplePortal -> Configuration  -> General Settings.

darklord:
Great Thanks for SuperFast reply. i try that and will notify here.

Nathaniel:
Any updates with this issue darklord?

darklord:
Yeah! thats work fine.
I'm just doing some kind of changes on SFstandalone so it can load my custom theme... these delay caused by those changes. i must inform sooner  ;)
