SimplePortal 2.2.1 Released!
« on: May 09, 2009, 09:34:15 AM »
SimplePortal Team is proud to announce the release of SimplePortal 2.2.1. This release includes several fixes for bugs found in the 2.2 version.

We urge all users to upgrade to SimplePortal 2.2.1 as soon as possible to take advantage of these fixes. A summary of the fixes is as follows:
  • Some template issues affecting Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers. - reported by patrick2271
  • Headers and copyright were incorrect on standalone mode.
  • Attachment avatars on portal caused issues when guests were restricted from forums. - reported by tk2012
  • Block preview function added extra slashes to parameters. - reported by steiger
  • Some URLs didn't display portal correctly.
  • A few tags were being left open after truncating posts. - reported by damnitmike
  • Deprecated database columns caused problems with some MySQL configurations. - reported by Quinn
  • A few table definitions in install scripts were incorrect.
  • Function for changing columns sometimes failed due to a MySQL bug. - reported by David

For users currently running SimplePortal 2.2; you can upgrade to 2.2.1 version using the SimplePortal 2.2.1 installation package.

If you are running an older version, you can upgrade by following these three steps. You shouldn't lose any data, but for safety, you should always back up before modifying your forum.
  • Uninstall SimplePortal.
  • Download SimplePortal 2.2.1.
  • Install SimplePortal 2.2.1, and you are ready to go!

Finally, please do not use this topic for any support requests. You will get a much more prompt response by posting in Install and Upgrade board.

I don't get it - on your download page it just say 2.2

So will that be 2.2 or 2.2.1 ??

Edit: Okay i found the download, but if you click the colorful download link on your front page you will end up with 2.2

http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=download

The URL to the new version is

http://simpleportal.net/index.php?action=downloads

Anyway it upgraded fine - thanks

I went to my profile (on this site) to upgrade the version number but it was not there.

Thanks for informing us. I fixed both issues.
Ms. Eliana TamerinIt should be painfully obvious by now that I don't respond to support PMs. Don't send me PMs for support. They will be ignored and deleted, post on the Support Boards to get support.
