Topic: Error installing SimplePortal 2.2.2 on SMF 2.0 RC1.2

Hello. I would like to start by saying that SimplePortal, from what I've seen here, and on other forums that use it, looks pretty good. And I can tell how much heart has gone into something like this. So my props go to the staff, and team for making such a useful feature for the SMF forum software.

With that said, I'll get down to why I'm posting.

I have been trying to install this on my forum, for quite a while now. Even after trying to install it without mods on it, on a clean install of the 2.0 RC1.2 forum software.


This is the error that appears, when I go to use the Package Manager in SMF, to install SimplePortal

SQL logic error or missing database
near "EXISTS": syntax error
File: /home/generati/public_html/forum/Packages/temp/install2.php
Line: 262

This was the only error that was coming up when I did a fresh install on my forums, so I didn't worry about it. Figuring I'd try later, after all the mods that I want are installed, I tried it again.

Yet and still, the same error comes up, on the same line.

Before I signed up here, I did a search on this same problem, and it seems that everyone has had this same problem. However, it was under different lines. Involving the install2.php file, in the directory listed. Again, I will stress that I have used the Package Manager to make an attempt at installing this. Manual installation has also failed here, because of the same issue that keeps coming up.

Any assistance in this, would be much appreciated. As I would like to use this. But it is no good to me, if I am unable to install it.

This is a known bug. I remember attaching a package with this issue fixed in sm.org support topic. I can't link to it ATM, but I'm sure you can find it if you just scan the last 5 pages of that topic.

Edit: Ok, got it from the link, and did it through the Package Manager. It comes up with the following message.

Sorry for delayed response DarkValentine. Do you still require assistance with this?

I suggest that you try dropping the SP tables, if there are any (they are prefixed with {smf_db_prefix}_sp_. Also remove the row with variable set as sp_version in settings table and try again. Make sure you upload the correct package.
