Shoutbox with single line per Shout

Hi,
in SP 2.3 RC1 there is a new shoutbox feature which could greatly replace my old shoutbox which I use in my forum until now ('SMF Shoutbox'). But there is a little drawback: every shout needs two lines and a separator. The "old" shoutbox needs only one line per shout which makes it very space-saving especially when used in wide low blocks (top block).
It would be nice to have an option to show the shoutbox in a single-line-mode.

You should be able to do this with some template and css edits. Its kind of pointless to add an extra option for something like this. This is probably more of a customization request than a Feature request. ;)
