SP 2.0.4 - Test Failed on install
« on: September 18, 2008, 05:01:50 AM »
Hi guys, I've seen this error in a few other threads, so I was wondering if anyone could give me a hand too.

Some details: I had an old version of SP installed and when I tried to uninstall it, it failed. I had to manually edit index.php to get past a lot of fatal errors but finally got the forum back and the old version of SP was gone from the home page, however it seems the failed uninstall might be affecting my efforts to try and install 2.0.4 (either that or another mod, of course).

Here is the output when I try to install 2.0.4:

1.     Execute Modification     ./index.php     Test successful
2.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/BoardIndex.php    Test successful
3.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Display.php    Test successful
4.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Load.php    Test failed
5.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/ManagePermissions.php    Test successful
6.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Recent.php    Test successful
7.    Execute Modification    ./Sources/Subs.php    Test successful
8.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/index.template.php    Test successful
9.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/Display.template.php    Test successful
10.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php    Test successful
11.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/languages/Who.english.php    Test failed
12.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english-utf8.php    Test successful
13.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/languages/Who.english-utf8.php    Test successful
14.    Extract File    ./Sources/SPortal.php
15.    Extract File    ./Sources/SPortalAdmin.php
16.    Extract File    ./Sources/Subs-SPortal.php
17.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/SPortal.template.php
18.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/SPortalAdmin.template.php
19.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/SPortalArticle.template.php
20.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/languages/SPortal.english.php
21.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/languages/SPortal.english-utf8.php
22.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/images/arrow.gif
23.    Extract File    ./Themes/default/images/dot.gif
24.    Execute Code    install.php

Here are the mods I have installed, it's a bit messy:

Mod Name     Version
1.    SMF 1.0.12 / 1.1.4 / 2.0 b1.1 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]

4.    Electric Guitar Avatars    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
5.    Auto Embed Video Clips    2.1.2    [ Uninstall ]
6.    Link Tree    1.0.0    [ Uninstall ]
7.    SMF 1.0.13 / 1.1.5 / 2.0 b3.1 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
8.    Yarex 2 smiley set    2    [ Uninstall ]
9.    Movie_Avatars    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
10.    Limit A Guests Daily PageViews Mod    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
11.    Topic Ratings    1.03    [ Uninstall ]
12.    ssi_boardNews Multiple Boards    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
13.    SMF Gallery Lite    1.8.3    [ Uninstall ]
14.    SimplePortal    1.2    [ Uninstall ]
15.    SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
16.    Advanced Login Form    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
17.    BoardHover Mod    1.3.0    [ Uninstall ]
18.    Karma Applaud Only    1.0.1    [ Uninstall ]
19.    PM Popup - Uses Active Window    1.3    [ Uninstall ]
20.    Profil Moderator Managment    1.0.0    [ Uninstall ]
21.    Remove SMF Logo    1.1

As you can see SimplePortal 1.2 is still in the list even though it's not on my home page, trying to uninstall it tells me that it can't find the package.

I've attached the 2 files which display the 'Test Failed' error too.

Thanks!

I have also dontaed, because I really like the mod :)

You mod list says that Simple Portal 1.2 is still installed. Try uninstalling it, it should be able to remove some leftover parts of it. ;)

Those files still contain parts from the 1.2 version, its probably better to remove that before you install the new version. The failed edits are occuring because the old version of simple portal has already edited those files. ;)

Ah, I mentioned that. When I try to uninstall the 1.2 package it displays this:

"Unable to find package file!"

I think it has to do with the errors during my first attempt to uninstall it, it can't seem to find it I guess  :(

But thanks :)

Try uploading the SimplePortalv1.2.zip file into your 'packages' directory, its should then let you uninstall it. ;)

Unknown column 'force_view' in 'field list'
File: /home/cyst/public_html/forum/Sources/Subs-SPortal.php
Line: 37

Now you need to upgrade your database, usually this is done via the upgrading packages, but if you upload the file attached in the post below to your forum root and then run it in your browser, it will update your database. ;)

Thanks again :)

I uploaded and ran the file in my browser, it displayed:

 MAJOR SECURITY RISK:
You have not removed upgrade.php!

Duplicate column name 'allowed_groups'
File: /home/cyst/public_html/forum/upgrade.php
Line: 11

It looks like the portal is working now though :) Should I be worried about the line 11 thing? or just remove upgrade.php now?

Don't worry about that error, MySQL would not have allowed it to add the column to the database so it won't have changed anything. You should now be able to remove that file and everything should work! ;D

(Although most of the time things don't 'just work'). ;)
