Blocks speak! Do you have an interest in getting more blocks - or even making your own? The Blocks Board is for you!

searched, unsure:center image vertically in block
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:47:15 AM »
Since I can't seem to get ad manager to work ONLY on the portal under the menu (unless someone knows how to do that, then my problem is also solved) What I am trying to do is center a sponsor image banner vertically in the block so that the up/down scroll bar goes away. Now I could just use <center> </center> but I don't want the entire image in the middle of the page. No matter what I do I cant seem to get rid of the scroll bar on the right.

Here is the code I am using

Quote
function RandomCode ($array)
{
  $total = count($array);
  $call = rand(0,$total-1);
  return $array[$call];
}

$html = array (
  '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com/index.htm"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg" alt="" /></a>',
  '<a href="htp://facebook.com/sponsor"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg?t=1350404128" alt="" /></a>',
 '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg?t=1350103092" alt="" /></a>',
 '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/untitled.jpg?t=1350103092" alt="" /></a>'
);

echo ''.RandomCode($html).'';

Where do I go about adding the proper tags/code and which do I have to use. I guess essentially I am asking you to rewrite the code with the proper information to center it vertically to get rid of the scroll bar. If anyone could help, that would be great. I have zero coding experience and have only found stuff like this via searching topics. If you are willing to help, please highlight the new lines/tags of the code you wrote by making them bold so that I can continue on my way to learning this stuff

silvershark,

Create a header block to have it display under the navigation links. For its display options, having it set to Show Block on Portal will make it only appear on your front page portal.

Here is your example code:
Code: [Select]
$html = array (
  '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com/index.htm"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg" alt="" /></a>',
  '<a href="htp://facebook.com/sponsor"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg?t=1350404128" alt="" /></a>',
 '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/Untitled.jpg?t=1350103092" alt="" /></a>',
 '<a href="htp://www.sponsor.com"><img src="htp://i1261.photobucket.com/untitled.jpg?t=1350103092" alt="" /></a>'
);

echo '<div style="overflow:hidden;vertical-align:middle;">',$html[rand(0,(count($html)-1))], '</div>';

If you still see a scrollbar just add the following text in Custom Body Style of the block:
Code: [Select]
overflow:hidden;
