  • {OCS}MasterSeal: I know this SB isnt' for support, but I just have a general question. Who would I contact to find out where SP stores its block info? Is it DB driven or files? I searched the site but came up with nothing. probably my fault any insight is appreciated.

Very Slow Posting on Shoutbox

Hi...

Just want to know how to fix my problem on shoutbox...

I have tried posting on shoutbox here and it's really fast but on my forum it's very slow. I need to refresh the page everytime I posted on my shoutbox....

What should I do to fix this..?

Im using SMF 2.0 RC3 / SimplePortal 2.3.2

Shouts to display: 10
Maximum shouts: 1000
Reverse Order: Unchecked
Caching: Checked
Auto refresh: 3
Status: Checked

Mods Installed:
1. Center User Info In Posts
2. Group Color in Posts and Profile
3. SimplePortal
4. Aeva Media
5. Karma Buttons
6. 30 Assorted Animated Avatars
7. Tux Starsigns

I'm running it on a free hosting.

How can I turn off auto refresh? And where can I find how many shouts are stored?

might to you more increase!, I think so you increase more fast. I guess you have clean too many reason you have more clean! I think so possible you make sure everything, normal

I can help you might to shoutbox! Do you have setting up fix on something or might refresh on speed 1 second.


I notice slow on shoutbox.. I struggle your seems problem. You delete on shoutbox but I think try fix on wrong. I am surprised. They problem something wrong error. i notice many stranger slow time.

You go to simple portal tab in admin, shoutbox, also blocks for all settings.

try this, go into your forum and make a shout, not on the portal page. try it in different parts of your site. and let me know if its the same or different.

also try clearing all shouts, and maybe getting a paid host. most free host have 100% more users on a server than it can support.

I think so might to problem his shoutbox something on slow, I think so belong to hosting help support. I agree you are right!

Do your shouts actually get posted if you wait long enough?

A test user account would be useful to try and debug this issue.
