First I will acknowledge that my website probably does not use articles in the way that simple portal ever intended and the fact that no one has yet to request this proves that its probably not a feature that most users are clamoring for.. but I can say that if there is an easy way to implement this feature then you would be doing me a huge favor.

My website gwgoodolddays.com is a clan/guild website.  We mainly use the articles for advertising in game events that we link to SMF's calendar.  Make make the announcement posts for the event then we add this to the front page as an article.  The problem comes in the fact that the articles are always listed in the order that the thread was created.  When we have a large event happening next weekend I try to post it far enough in advance so all the users can see the event and make plans to attend.. however we will often have smaller mini events during the week that will not be posted until say the day before it happens and my issue is that this will push the larger events down in the articles list (or even to the next page) and hide it.

I am requesting a simple way to manually move articles display orders around so I can keep these more important events at the top.  I am thinking that this could be simple little arrows like are found when moving a block around.  I would put these arrows on this page...

Perfect!

Also. Angelina, take a look at this http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=3009.msg33746#msg33746.  I would like to get some feedback on if its a good idea and/or too difficult to implement.. perhaps get it added for next release?

Eagerly awaiting the next release!

It is my understanding that your issue is the same as the other poster's issue -- that the articles would also appear in the custom order.

It looks like this is a feature for SimplePortal 2.4

The link in my previous message was a different feature request from the articles one.  I just wanted your opinion on that one since I have your attention.

I think the "bottom of the post" feature request is a request for a separate feature, and that you should make a separate feature request.

There's no harm in making the request.
