Column Width Control

[Copying this post to the Support Board]

Hello Community,

Simple Portal 2.0.5 is one of the best things that's ever happened to me.  The possibilities are tantalizingly close.  Just one obstacle.  I have no control over column width whether I specify in pixels or %.  I suspect it's due to my heavy use of Youtube embeds.

How do I gain control?

I'd like to use all three columns but can't get the spacing right.  I would gladly settle for two even columns but there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason as to how it turns out.

For example
www.WineryWorks.com came out with two evenly spaced columns
www.AmericanaWorks.com was completely lopsided.  So much so that I am just displaying the center.
www.ingworks.com also came out with two equal columns (but I was going for 3 spaced at 40% 20% and 40%.
www.Machinimation.com - As an experiment, I added the exact same type blocks (Board News Blocks) two each, in left and top blocks.  Looks like about a 40/60 split.  No differences noted as between leafing right blocks enabled or not.

Any thoughts as to workarounds would be great.

Thanks,

combinator

Solution: By selecting "0" avatars, limiting myself to left blocks or right blocks (but not both) and keeping embeds < 420 pixels, my column issues are under control.  My only remaining issue is I can't figure out why Youtube embeds don't work on the right side of www.LibertyIsGreen.com and www.AmericanaWorks.com while they perform fine at sites like www.ShakespeareanWorks.com and www.SportsWorks.com.

The problem is not a problem of Simple Portal, thats a problem of the fixed size of the flash videos...
And most browser overwrite the size date with the largest item on the blocks.
