Pages with SimplePortal?
« on: September 22, 2010, 03:38:06 AM »
Hello,

I have an SMF-forum with a SimplePortal and now I'd like to copy the webpages on my free webspace to my forum on the SimplePortal Pages, so that people stay on my forum-adress instead of the free website-adress.
My question now is just if there are more members here who made some pages via SimplePortal?

Thanks and greetings  ;)

yes, i uses the page facility in SimplePortal, most of my pages are the HTML type and some PHP types, i hardly ever use the BBC type unless it is purely text on that page.

i hope that has answered your question??

or was there more to it ??
as a foot note:
i went from a SMF 1.1.11 to SMF2 RC3 with out any problems what so ever, first of all de-install all Mods, converted to RC3, then installed SP2.3.2, then installed the required Mods.

it depends on how your pages are made, if you just copy/paste your pages in a block its more likely to have errors or to look weird, can you give us an example of your html pages?

Hello 130860 and deansmar,

Thx for your answers, the pages are made in HTML and CSS, so I have to delete some codes but that's no problem and I will also use XHTML now.

Your browser understands HTML, and can do client-side scripting (as with Javascript).

pHp is a server-side scripting language. It gets the web server to do stuff.  Like create HTML for browsers to display.  There are many other server-side languages.  It is pretty interesting stuff, but not too difficult.

http://w3schools.com/ (see server scripting)

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

Hello,

I already made some pages, changed the html-codes into xhtml-codes and also checked by W3C. Now the forummembers stay on our forum by clicking the info-pages, my thanks to the SimplePortal Team  ;)
