Copy the included file "portal.css" to "./Themes/yourtheme/css".
Copy the included file "portal_rtl.css" to "./Themes/yourtheme/css".
Copy the included file "portal.js" to "./Themes/yourtheme/scripts".

I think this is same problem as:
http://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=6874.msg39033#msg39033

Problem is portal.css -- when you install SimplePortal, please check boxes to get files for theme.

Have you tried the SimplePortal documentation?

As suggested by sebas, you can fix this error by copying the 'portal.css' file to the relevant themes. (although you shouldn't need to copy any of the other files)

The following conclusions:

Those edits are a compatibility fix, ie. you can't remove them, otherwise curve has a display error.
