Topic: parsing of rss page very slow

Hello.

I am not sure that it is about a bug but each time I insert a block RSS in the homepage of my simpleportal, this homepage (http://gallika.net/smf/) loads very slowly, over 6 - 18 seconds. However, the direct download of the target page (http://gallika.net/?page=backend) is very quick.

I think that the parsing of this target page is very slow.  Bug ? Any other idea ? Thank you very much.

There are many known problems with the RSS block.
This is because of the SMF functions it uses.
 
The RSS block will have to be completely rewritten to get around these problems.
