This would be a little more to bring to the shoutbox now.
I use that is online on my site.
The action of a member on the shoutbox is not taken into account in attendance which is accounting for the "who's online. "

When one member to act on the site / forum / gallery its presence is taken into account by the "who is online".
But not the shoutbox, which is very useful when using the shoutbox much.
If a member that shares the shoutbox and not the site / forum /.... we will not see on "who is online after some time.

I think I understood you very well.
 
It is good to show shoutbox activity in "who's online"
Please show, in "who's online" when user hits "Shout!" or "History" or "Refresh" button.
