move shoutbox inputbox from bottom to top
« on: February 18, 2011, 06:36:29 PM »
hi.
I hope I'm in the right section, here is my problem
I installed SP 2.3.3 over SMF2RC5, and added a shoutbox in a block on all pages.
the shoutbox options allow to have the text from most recent to oldest or from oldest to most recent, but the input textbox seems to always be at the bottom.

I looked around and found no setting for this, so I tried to go directy to the file Themes/default/PortalShoutbox.template.php and move the block directly in the source :
I tried moving this div : <div class="shoutbox_input smalltext">
above this one: <div class="shoutbox_body">

when I do that, the input text is at the top, but the body is squeezed to the right of the block (and unreadable)

so I have 2 questions :
 1) Is there a setting I missed that would allow me to do this without changing the sourcecode
 2) if there isn't could someone help me find out what is missing between these 2 div which would allow me to have the same layout as default, but with the inputbox at the top?

Thanks

Hetasser.

[Edit]to explain it simply, what I have is this :

and what I am trying to do is this :

thanks [/Edit]

Wow, you've been waiting almost a year! You have not learned php yet? Haha jk. Me either, or I would figure it out. I could not even move the input box like you tried...
