Blocks beside forum
« on: November 15, 2008, 04:57:44 PM »
I'd like to have blocks on the left side and near to it - my forum view just like on simpleportal.net website when somebody clicks FORUM button. How can I do it?

When its done. We don't generally give out approximate timeframes because it puts too much pressure on the Devs, if we decide that it needs to be delayed then there is usually a reason. ;)

However, we are getting very close to finishing it. :D

I just wanted to commend you guys for producing a really nice Portal!  I installed the latest version last night with minimal issues.

SMF 2.0 beta 3.1 with SP 2.05.  Beta on Beta!  I'm amazed at how stable this version of SMF is and being able to incorporate SP into it so easily was great.

I'm looking forward to the soon to be released 2.1 version!  I want my forum wrapped with SP!

Thanks,

Scott

Hello I am opening a new forum today and I need a portal system, can I install SimplePortal Classic 2.0.5 for now and later change it to the 2.1 version witch is really the layout that I Like? Or will I have some conflicts?
thanks

You will be able to switch to SimplePortal 2.1 from SP 2.0.5. It will involve uninstalling SimplePortal 2.0.5 and then installing SimplePortal 2.1, all of the database information will be updated by the SimplePortal 2.1 installer. :)

When you say we will have to uninstall 2.05 will that mean the settings will be removed too?  Will I have to recreate the layout of the blocks, etc?

Not that it's that big of a deal.  But, since we are talking betas here it would be nice for a simple upgrade from one to the other.

I guess the code has changed considerably then?

No, you won't loose any settings nor blocks. Don't worry, package will handle everything for you. ;)
